P.E.O. CHAPTER HL SCHOLARSHIP
Kiper-Twist Scholarship Fund is a need-based scholarship that was established in 2000 in honor of two outstanding members of the Chapter HL sisterhood who demonstrated a lifelong commitment to the education of young women. With a preference for North County San Luis Obispo residents, high school graduates with a minimum 2.8 GPA or GED equivalent are eligible and can attend a school of their choice.
P.E.O. California State ScholarshipS
For California state residents, there are seven P.E.O. scholarships and grants available for women in various fields of study. For more information, visit PEOcalifornia.org.
Ethel O. Gardner Scholarship is a scholarship for women who have completed two years of college study.
Scholarship Selection Committee of the P.E.O. Foundation manage 40 different scholarships that are available for undergraduate and graduate women studying in a variety of fields, including music, fine arts, continuing education and health care.
Dorothy L. Weller Scholarship is a scholarship for women studying in the field of law.
Ruth B. White Scholarship is a scholarship for women studying in the broad field of medicine who have completed one year of graduate study.
Loving Concern Fund provides grants to California women and men in need of short-term financial assistance.
California Cottey College Scholarship Fund is available for women attending Cottey College.
Stella Carver Fund is a fund that provides need-based grants to assist women aged 60+ with the costs of housing, health or human services.
P.E.O. INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS, GRANTS & LOANS
P.E.O. Educational Loan Fund – ELF is a revolving loan fund that was established in 1907 to lend money to qualified women students to assist them in securing a higher education. ELF has loaned $223.2 million.
P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship – IPS is a fund that was established in 1949 to provide scholarships for international women students to pursue graduate study in the United States and Canada. IPS has provided $42.1 million in scholarships.
P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education — PCE was established in 1973 to provide need-based grants to women in the United States and Canada whose education has been interrupted and who find it necessary to return to school to support themselves and/or their families. PCE has given $62.9 million in grants.
P.E.O. Scholar Awards – PSAs were established in 1991 to provide substantial merit-based awards for women in the United States and Canada who are pursuing a doctoral-level degree at an accredited college or university. PSA has given $28.2 million in scholarships.
P.E.O. STAR Scholarships – STARs were established in 2009 to provide scholarships for exceptional high school senior women to attend an accredited postsecondary educational institution in the United States or Canada in the next academic year. STAR has given 12.8 million in scholarships.
Cottey College – Cottey College is a nationally-ranked, fully accredited, independent, baccalaureate-granting liberal arts/sciences college for women located in Nevada, Missouri that has been owned/supported by P.E.O. since 1927. Cottey College is a debt-free institution that welcomes women from around the world.
The P.E.O. Foundation is a non-profit corporation established in 1961 to encourage tax-deductible giving to the educational and charitable projects of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
